New England Parent and Community Organizing Support

CYCLE provides technical assistance to Nellie Mae Education Foundation Lead Community Partners (LCPs), including Parents and Youth for Change (Burlington/Winooski, VT), Meriden Children First (Meriden, CT), Hartford Parent University (Hartford, CT), Pittsfield Listens (Pittsfield, NH), Portland Empowered (Portland, ME), and Women Encouraging Empowerment (Revere, MA), in their work as part of the foundation’s grants to increase public understanding and demand for student-centered learning and educational equity. CYCLE’s support to LCPs has focused on building their capacity to engage, organize, and develop the leadership of families and communities in student-centered learning reforms and on supporting sites’ work in developing complementary inside and outside engagement strategies and building relational power among multiple stakeholders to achieve educational equity.
